I have had an association with the Arabian horses for more than 30 years and started breeding 28 years ago; Mikinda Arabians was founded. Lived in the picturesque town of Springton just between the Adelaide hills and the Barossa Valley South Aust on a small property of 15 acres beautiful home and gorgeous horse barn close to the home.
My aim was to produce outstanding Arabians with the intention of being great saddle horses either purebred or derivative that were known for their incredible movement, style and temperament. The studs breeding stock was carefully selected for temperament, type, conformation and purity of paces, this being so important to me as I am a rider and with the intention of producing my next saddle horse.
In the early days, my first husband was involved in showing , training, and catching leads for clients while I concentrated on our home-bred horses showing in South Australia and competing in Victoria and New South Wales.
A host of many championships and Supremes where won under saddle and in halter. During this time heavily involved in all three Arabian clubs in South Australia and involved in the combining of these clubs, running shows and conducting seminars.
For the past 15 years while still having a keen interest in Arabian horses I cut down numbers keeping a stallion and a couple of mares who are part of my family and give me great pleasure. During this time I have concentrated on my job career in the wine industry , family and lifestyle choices and continued to support the Arabian horse industry by being an Arabian horse Judge. Appointed judging commitments have taken me all over Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania. It’s been a privilege to judge some amazing horses during that time.
A new chapter in my life was moving to Melbourne to be with my husband Pete and combining horses to start a new stud together South Serenity Arabians on a picturesque property in Kilmore.
I have been blessed to have Arabian horses in my life and so grateful for all the amazing people I have met through owning them.
